Oil leak burping out oil when I park the car.
Ok, I just bought a 1998 S70 GLT with 140k last week. The car is very clean inside and out. The owner who I am (was) friends with said it had a small leak when driven that was coming from the output shaft seal. He had it replaced last year and felt it was leaking again. He is a pretty meticulous guy and has all of the service records from the car. He doesn't wrench at all so he was at the mercy of the shops he took the car to. In the last year he had the shaft seal done, new CV joints and the oil pan R&R'd.
When I go the car home and jacked it up the whole car from the engine to the start of the back door was covered with oil. After cleaning it all up and watching while running it isn't the shaft seal leaking, but it is oil coming out the whole between the engine and tranny where the flex plate is. This looks like the rear main seal. Then I noticed when I drive the car and park it the leak actually seems to burp out the oil as soon as I park it. Within 30 seconds there is a puddle about 4 inches around. Is this a PCV problem? If so is it too late on the RMS, or if I get the pressure fixed will the seal "fix" itself?

Why didn't he have the PCV system replaced? Does sound like a RMS leak.
Replace the PCV and see if that slows the leak down (I doubt it will stop it). Then take the car to the local self wash, take the oil cap off, then hook up the vacuum to it and let us know if that pulls the seal back in. I always wanted to try that. It may work better if the car is running.
