Oil Pan made of Aluminum? Weld up hole.
Hello, new guy here.
I have a 1998 S70 with a punctured oil pan. Im not sure I want to pay the $900-1200 replacement cost of swapping out my damaged pan so I was wondering what type of material the pan is made of.
I may try to just have it welded closed if its possible and th ehole isnt to large.
Thanks guys!

I had a whole in my 5-speed tranny case, aluminum. I got an aluminum washer about the size of the whole. Cleaned the whole outer surface. Applied JB Weld stuck washer to fill in most of the whole. Applied JB Weld to washer whole. Let it stand over night. Filled tranny with fluid. No leaks. Drove vehicle 2 yrs. no problem.
