Default p0108 code by itself

98 s70 GLT. Rans fine and threw a code. Pulled it and it was a P0108 Map/Baro Circuit High Input. I have seen other people throw that code along with some thing else like a thermostat but mine is just the MAP. any idea what this means?

Thank you,

got it back from good year after 100 dollar diagnoise fee. they said the MAP is good but the atomsphere pressure sensor is bad. 300 dollars to replace the part which includes the labor. so all in all 400 plus tax.

does that sound fair?

Thanks

I've got the part here for $160. http://www.partsquick.com/ProductDetail.asp?i=241475or here for $135.89: http://www.eeuroparts.com/productdetail.aspx?code=8583

Not sure about the installation, but I'd look into doing it myself to save $200+, but that's me. From the part it looks like just taking off one bolt and an electrical connection, simple enough. It just depends on where it's located, I guess, but not worth $200 for me.

thank you very much for the info! the 100 diagnoises fee is a must now that they figured out the problem.... it's just 100 dollars to put it in, i guess i am welling to ditch that out since am away from my own garage.

again, thanks for your help!

No problem. Glad to help with your decision making. (I see what you mean now - you already paid the $100 and the $400 included that so the savings would only be $100 not $200.)
