Passenger Door Lock
Hi All,
I'm New here.
I have a Volvo S70 1998 and something odd happened today. I went to unlock my car with the Key and noticed that the passneger side did not unlock. If Iopen it by hand and the lock with the key then the button goes down.
I do hear the motor activating (I think) when I tryto unlock but the button stays down. Any Ideas anyone?
Many Thanks indeed.

RE: Passenger Door Lock
I have the opposite problem. When I lock the doors, the door lock activates, the plastic **** goes down on the passenger side door, but its not actually locked. It looks like its locked through the window, but you canopen the door. I thinking its a part between the thedoor lock and motor.

RE: Passenger Door Lock
There is one screw under the cover where you grab to close the door.
Also the trim ring around the inner door handle comes off.
Then clips hold the rest of the panel in but be careful pulling on the panel. They are well known to come apart.
The inner part seperates from the outer part. But you can glue it back together if it comes apart.

RE: Passenger Door Lock
Hi again,
Mine were both rear locks, like tech said just be careful, mine came apart with light prying with a medium flat head driver. I got my parts from salvage yards, tyl. S70 driver has some resource links on the main S70 forum page. Im sure one of them will have it. It isn't a too bad of a job to do yourself. Let me know, I can help you from memory if need be, I just did one last month. lol p.s There is a cover on door with a hidden screw for the lock assy. That got me the first time.
