Default Power, or lack of

Noob here..testing the waters. Wondering how feasable/expensive it would be to upgrade '98 S70 base model to a turbo car? Anybody do it? I looked at a freinds X-country set-up, looks like a stock system wouldn't be too much trouble, is the ecu swappable? What years might be direct bolt ups from the junk (I use this word hastily as I love salvage yards) yard?It seems the price of a chip would go a long way to a salvaged turbo set up...
thanks in advance for any advice

You would have to change the ECM,The Engine harness due to boost pressure sensors, cat converter, exhaust manifold, induction pipes, intercooler.Mass flow sensor.
I think that should be about it.
Hope this helps make your decision.

wouldn't it be easier and probably cheaper to add a supercharger to it?

Is the 850 the same as the s70? that would give me more options for salvage turbo parts. Thanks for the input

Since you have a 98 yes they should be almost identicle. There might be a minor diffrence in the engine control module.

It's probably easier to sell your car and buy a turbo model.

The N/A ars have a higher static compression ratio and will not handle a lot of boost. In terms of cost effectiveness, it's cheaper to buy a turbo model.
