Default Power question for tech, others...

Hey guys. 1998 S70 T5, manual. Just had complete 90k maintenance performed. New timing belt, etc... Plugs were installed not long ago. Here is the minor issue Im having. At first start in 1st gear and when shifting to 2nd, I have a little lag feeling of power. That is during initial takeoff and then when I shift to 2nd. 3rd, 4th, 5th feels fine. Car still really pulls after initial slow start. Tech guy I saw recommended a fuel additive cleaner as the car had sat for around 2 1/2 months before I got it. Since I know absolutely nothing about the maintenance fo cars, 1. does this sound correct and should solve the problem, and 2. what brand of additive should I get for our cars? I appreciate the help from any and all. It just seems weird to me the hp and torque we have for this feeling upon intial take-off. The car passed its inspection perfectly.

Thanks

Try cleaning the throttle body and getting a bottle of Techron and putting it in.

Also just so you know on the Manual Trans. cars 1st gear is limited on power by the computer.
This way you won't burn the tires off to fast.

Thanks Tech. Did not know that the power is limited in 1st on the manuals. As to cleaning the throttle body, I will assume that this is a relatively simple matter. I will check for posts on this and I will also get the Techron. Thanks for your input.

The throttle body is pretty easy to clean.
Follow the Hose to the front of the engine remove the hose. Then clean the throttle body and the butterfly the best you can. Then install the Techron and drive it and see how it works.
