Default prob a question for tech

I recently bought a 98 S70 from an apparent crooked person. After bringing it for an oil change, my mechanic informed me that the cel didn't work because I had bad o2 sensors and it should have triggered it. Sure enough, when you turn the key to II, it doesn't go on. Also along w/ my abs and tracs lights (abs module also bad). Yeah, crooked guy. Whatever, I already fixed the o2 sensors and getting the module replaced very soon. So I was wondering now that these faults are gone, I would like to have a cel so I know in the future if something's wrong. I'm under the assumption that maybe he disconnected the light bulb? If so, how can I fix that? I'm hoping it's something that I can get to by just taking off the top cover. I'm pretty good with cars, hopefully it's something I can do. Any thoughts?

If you start up the car, and the dash lights don't come on like the book says they should, the bulbs are burned out.

Your mechanic more than likely is the crook, ha. How did he know you needed new O2 sensors ? How much did he charge you?

Seriously, those lights go out after 10/11 years. Your mechanic should have known this though.

No, that's not it at all. My mechanic did a diagnostic check on it, which is what they do with every oil change. And obviously bad O2 sensors would show up on that. I actually just bought the car only like 2 months ago and that was the only time he saw it. And he only charged me the price of the oil change and I put the O2 sensors in myself.... one of which wasn't even plugged in. My mechanic is actually documented as being the best in the new england area and won a trip to Sweden like 5 yrs ago. Plus I know him personally so trust me... he didn't screw me.

I believe you can get to those bulbs by taking the knee panel off and reaching up there.

Nope the top dash pad has to be removed to replace the bulbs.

To the OP are you going to have the ABS module rebuilt?
