Hello,

I am in the market for a Volvo 850 turbo or S70 T5. I have found two s70 T5s in my area. One has 189k miles on it and not a whole lot of service records. The guy just had the timing belt and water pump changed and is asking $2500. The other has 214k miles on it but has all the service records and suggested maintenance done to it (timing belt, tensioner etc were done 17k miles ago), he is asking $3400. Both are 1998s. Do either of these seem like a good/fair deal?

Thanks in advance!

Both seem fair. Check a few things out yourself, drive them, which one looks better. Then grab one. You can also look over the 850 buyers guide in the 850 DIY section.

I guess you really need to drive them and see their condition. I would probably opt for the $2,500.00 deal all things being equal. You know the timing belt and water pump were just changed, plus you have $900.00 "saved money" to take are of any issues or do some upgrades.

Good Luck!

Greg
