Receiver/Drier alignment problem

Receiver/Drier alignment problem
Hi all,
I have just replaced the Receiver/Drier on my 1998 V70. As others have experienced, it took a huge amount of effort to undo the hose to the compressor (plus whacked knuckles).
When I installed the new one, with new O-rings, I found that I could not tighten it enough so that it was aligned with the pipe to the evaporator. Indeed, it was 180degrees out. I tried twisting it but the twist in the compressor hose was very bad and I would not want to run it like that.
So, I had no option other than to back off the nutshalf a turn so that things fitted.
However, it seems that this is possibly leaking and that the nuts probably have to be tight given how the O-rings sit.
Could someone confirm whether or not the nuts have to be super tight? I am assuming yes but would be comforted to know this was not the case.
Anyone else had the experience of it not lining up? My V70 is a RHD but I think the receiver drier is at the front right on either LHD or RHD so presumably the part numbers are the same?
Thanks,
Dave
