Ok . I removed the motor and track assembly off the door with the broken glass. I think I see how that worked.

what I need to know is how to get the glass off the tracks of the door that I am replacing without breaking it.

I know there was a clip on each of the rollers but what else do I need to know or do ?

I must not break the glass..lol..

The rear glass is kinda hard. What I had to do is take the door/window seal out to get the glass out. (Whenever I tint the glass on my cars I take out the side glass). So, I believe I remember taking a screw out of the trailing edge of the door to get the seal out of the door. Put the window down, then try to slide the seal out of the door frame, then take the seal out of the door, then take the glass out (after you remove the clips, which are hard to remove once you pull the pins out). I'm pretty sure I pulled the glass out from the outside up (this was on an 850 which should be the same).

The bottom of the glass has 2 clips. The clips/pins came out easy but it was hard getting the studs out of the clips on the bottom of the glass.

I got the pins out of the rollers. that was easy. I didnt go any further as I couldnt tell how to get the rollers off the tracks.

I ran out of time to mess with it . right now I am stumped.

on the yard door there was a metal clip I had to remove to get the roller off the track. cant tell if this one has it or not.

its whipping me at the moment.

You have to roll the window down far enough to see what you are working with. The sissors that connect to the bottom of the window track has the ball ends snapped into the guides and the pins clip in to secure them. Once you pull the pins you have to unhook the window from the scissor arms that raise and lower the glass. They don't come out easy, the pins are easy.

I just looked at the pics I took when I took the rear windows out of my 850 and the statements I made above are good.

So I have to get them blue things off the bottom of the glass for the glass to come off ?

I rolled down the window as far as I could. Window only goes about half way down in rear doors. It's a little annoying but that's factory.

I thought if I could get the rollers off the track I would be able to remove the scissor assembly / motor and the glass could stay on the track.

So far that's not happening.

I think I read where the blue things must come out to get glass off the tracks. I just don't know how to get them off ?

Suggestions ? Pics of your removal or whatever you are going off of ?

Thx

I went ahead and made instructions. On the S/V70, there are no screws in the bottom of the panel, it has clips that need to be removed. I'm sure you already figured that out. Once you pull the panel off, the brackets will likely fall off. I usually use liquid nail to glue those back on before I re-install the panel. I glue them as soon as I pull the panel off.

In my 1998 S70 T5, the rear passenger window will go down, but it won't go back up. I had to manually wiggle it back up.

Do the instructions you wrote up also pertain to me? In my case, is something off track, or did something get unclipped?

I hope this isn't hijacking the original thread ...

If it doesn't work from either switch, you may have a bad motor or regulator. Does it sound like the motor is working when you press the switch? If so, you likely have a bad regulator. If it doesn't sound like anything is happening, you may have a bad switch unit. Try the switch on the door.

Both the driver's switch and the passenger's switch will roll down the window. When trying to roll it up, the motor makes the normal sound as if the window were going up. It also stops at a set point. However, the window doesn't move.

Take the panel off and watch to see what is going on. I would pull the track lifts off and see if the regulator is working ok. It's either the motor or regulator.

My "window regulator rollers" is cracked. On both of mine, the green wheel has a portion missing, and think as the wheel turns while it rolls on the track, the stud pops out.

How are these wheels replaced? I think the part is known as a "Window Regulator Roller", and it has a retainer clip. Do these wheels slide off the track? Do I just need to hit it harder to pop it off and on the track?

rockauto.com is $12.35 shipped.

I don't remember. I thought they were locked in the ends of the track. I think I may have replaced one of them by taking the window out and bending the edge of the track to get it out.

I think there was a small bump or two at the end of the track that keeps the roller in place. Maybe I can try to flatten that in order to get the roller out.

For the left roller, does it even move? It looked like it was set in place. I'm just wondering if I should buy one or two rollers.
