Default RR window goes down but not up...motor & switch good though?

Alright, I did a search but could not really locate anything like what I have going on here. The car is a 1999 S70 non-turbo. I have a RR window that will go down but not up from both the master switch and the RR switch itself. The RR switch is new from the dealer as I tried replacing that first after it seemed like that was the issue. If I put power to the motor one way and the other the motor will run the window up and down. But when it is hooked up through the wiring harness of the car it will only go down. At a loss here as to what it can be. Is it something in the Master Switch on the driver door...like a relay internally or something that would cause the window not to go one way but the other? Is there a module or control unit somewhere that could be the issue on this car? Thanks for any help.

I will try to look this up for you in a diagram, maybe tomorrow.

mine does the same thing (except i CAN roll the window up/down from the RR switch). from the master switch, it will only go down. i think a bad master switch could mess with the RR door switch. probably need a new master switch

Yep, master switch, unless there's an open in the harness. I would get a wiring diagram and troubleshoot it...

The wiring seems fine as the problem only occurs when the circuit is completed through the master switch. If you run power through the wiring directly to the motor it goes in either direction. I was thinking master switch, but I didn't know if there was a relay or control unit somewhere that could also cause this before I drop $100 on a new master switch.

This is a common problem with these cars. It is most likely the master control that is creating the problem. However, try wiggling the rubber conduit in the problem door where it comes into the front of the door at the hinges. Sometimes, that seems to work on my car.
