Car turned off, blower motor doesn't though.....help?
Ok so for the past month or so my blower motor fan has been squeaking pretty bad. Yesterday, I shut off my car and the air did not stop. In fact it was on full blast. Even with the slider set to 0 it was blowing. It had happened once before and stopped after a few minutes so I left it overnight and the battery died. I jumped it this morning and it was back at it. A friend of mine suggested I pull the number 5 fuse which controls 'air speed 4'. This disabled the air and has at least let me turn the car off with no problems.
My question is, what needs replaced? Maybe the control module to the A/C itself? I doubt this because I took it out and disconnected all of the wires and the fan would not stop. If the blower motor is running at full speed how can it have failed? What should I do next?
Thanks folks

some of the later 850's had what is called an 'after blower'.
in essence, after you turn the car off, the blower runs for a few minutes to dry condensation from the ac core.
helps stop the core corroding through so fast.
If your car has one of these, maybe its faulty.
I have no idea what this controller looks like or where it is.

I believe he is talking about the blower motor for the interior of the car, the one controled by the dash controls for the heat and air.
There are a few post about these motors and what goes wrong with them. It sounds like you have a bad relay or something that has gotten stuck if it will not turn off normally. I'm sure it is not running right now because it would drain your battery in a matter of hours. Try turning it off before you turn the car off until you get the problem fixed.

I would start with the blower control module that is right to the left of the blower motor. It controls the fan speed. The fan has 12v all the time and the module controls the amount of ground it gets. Since all the load is on that module it is a good place to start.
