Default rubber door seal

My rear door seal things seem to droop down constantly. Does anyone have any recomendations on how to fix the problem without becoming permanent? I am starting to think rubber cement would probably be OK. Thanks.

Silicone would be a good choice,it will stand up better to time and weather.

I also have this problem on my 98 S70s. From what I can tell these seals aren't glued on from the factory. All I do is work the seal back up under the trim on the inside of the window and that's usually good for a couple of months before it drops down again. So far I haven't seen the need to glue it on....

simul8guy,

The front doors have not done it to me at all, but the rears do it about once every two weeks. A couple of months is understandable, but they are starting to get on my nerves. I plan on trying the silicone. Thanks to everyones advice.

I haven't had any issues with my front door seals either, just the rears. If you try the silicone adhesive let us know what brand you used, take a couple of pics of where you applied it, and let us know how it turned out.

I have had the same problem as well with the 850 and S70, I found that using automotive grade double sided tape works.

I finally did something about my door seals. The silicone I used wasn't anything special, although I did make sure that it was a waterproof silicone and I preferred clear. Basically, I just peeled out the part of the seal that was giving me trouble, plus a little more, and applied the silicone in the groove of the rubber that makes contact, put it back on, and then held it there for a minute. I checked on it a couple more times that night, and it was all good. It hasn't been too long since then, but it seems to be doing fine.
