i think they might not have that engine in the US but my 2.5 10v enginecreates a massivenoise from the hydrualic tappers when it;s warm, i was told by volvo UK that is normal on that engine, other places tell me i need to change to a thinner oil so it seals itself up again, what does everyone here think?

 

I know the U.S. spec cars have problems with the o-rings between the oil pan and the engine block.
That makes the lifters tap. It also drops the oil pressure down.

if it's the oil pressure that drops, would topping it up with more oil be a temp. solution to the noise?
