I am not car savvy, so bear with me while I try to explain what is happening...

the check engine light came on and now when I head a sound similar to a saw or a drill when I accelerate and the pedal shakes when I push it to break. It also kinda pushes back when I try to break. I am taking it to the mechanic today, but I am fearful of taking it on the highway and considering a a tow... Any idea what this might be?

 

Not enough info there to tell us anything. What did your mechanic say?
