Have a 98 s70 non turbo 2.4. Had code p0442 come up and have replaced the j hose on evap cannister and fuel cap. Reset the code and still have same issue. The cars idle is okay. When shifting into gear the car starts to stutter. At times the car dies. When put back to P\N idle comes back to norm. No code has been throne. Changed plugs and wires 4 months ago. And have rechecked. Any help appreciated.

 

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Check on the RH side of the intake manifold (passenger) and see if there is a disconnected line, or rotted tubing.

 

Ran the car yesterday and not a stutter. Got some rain overnight and the car is stuttering. Had changed a hose to the evap sensor. Again only stutters in gear. Lights seem to dim with stutter.
