Default My '05 S40 T5 acts like it wants to die?!!

Ok in the mornings when I pull it out of the garage she acts like she wants to die when I rev it a lil bit, it's like it cuts out for a second. It starts right up with no hesitations too. When it first started this I would just pull it out of garage and leave, well she acted like she wanted to die on me when I got to end of road and came to a full stop. Only does this in the mornings.. I thought maybe some bad fuel but it's been almost 2 weeks now that it's been doing this. Recently had oil changed. Frustrated!!

Is the check engine light on? Any strange noises from under the hood? How many miles?

Yep after she warms up it's fine. However we put a fuel additive in it on Wednesday and by Thursday and Friday it was totally fine in the mornings. I thought maybe some bad fuel? I started thinkin omg fuel pump, ecm. But now it's really fine..hmm

There hasn't been any engine lights on, no noises and she has 78,800 miles. I did take it in to my buddy a couple days ago, he's an ASE certified tech and he checked all the faults and found nothing. He's thinking it could be needing the carbon cleaned because it has some build up on the valves, which could make it sputter when I rev it. So he's gonna do that. I was told that should be done and i've got nearly 80 thousand miles already. So maybe a combo of bad fuel and carbon buildup?

Your car will operate different when it is cold than warm. Air / fuel mix is different and temp sensors will make the computer compensate for a cold motor.

You likely have a temp sensor going / gone bad or a air mix control valve gone bad. Maybe even the MAF. Check out cold operating items.
