Default S70 Speedometer/odometer issue.

My speedometer has stopped working for some time now (it would go on and off) but i just took this in stride. Recently I noticed my odometer stopped working too (not increasing in millage as I drove). When I restarted the car, both the odometer AND speedometer started functioning. In the middle of a drive, I realized the speedometer gave out, only to find that the odometer had given out as well.

Are these 2 related? (Since the speedometer doesn't read speed, the odometer doesn't record millage) or are they 2 seperate issues. I've seen the website to take out the ABS to get it fixed and solve the speedometer issue, and another website on fixing the odometer (taking it out and replacing broken gear). Am I going to have to do both of these things in order to fix both the issues?

well the broken gear is for the manual odometer. i think you have a digital odometer. in that case i think either your abs module is shot (maybe). any lights on like abs or check engine or an arrow pointing up?
