Default S70 t5 p1171

I have a 1999 S70 T5 with 113000 miles. Check Engine light came on with code P1171. I chaged the aircleaner filter and MAF to no avail. There is a chirping sound when the car is in gear and reving out of or back down into idle, otherwise the car runs great, good gas mileage etc...
Any information would help, these parts are too expensive to shotgun.
Thanks,
Tony

Yes, throwing parts at it can't be fun. Have you checked all the hoses and vacuum lines? I would pay close attention to the hoses that connect to the idle control valve.

Also, what is the code? Have you checked it in the 850 area?

P1171 is LONG-TERM FUEL TRIM. Where on the T5 is the idle control valve? Thanks for the info.

It's on the front of the motor just behind the radiator. It has a black box type cover over it, 1 hex screw hold it on.
