Default servicing?

when are the scheduled services for s70s? i feel like one should be at 120k miles as im starting to be able to hear what i believe to be the pulleys under the manifold whenever the car is on. i have 116K on the car now, and im wondering if i should wait (if there is in fact another service coming up) or if i should just go ahead and take it to the dealer now.

The service intervals are at 7,500 according to the Dealer.

The 120k Get your wallet ready for. Like $300.00 to $400.00 it is the Major tuneup service.

ok well fortuneatly my parents take care of anything safety related as im saving up for books and such for college, and this would qualify. am i right in assuming the clicking noise under the manifold is a pulley belt getting old? or is it something entirely different?

How loud is it?

Is it all the time or only sometimes?

it is somewhat loud, but i also do not have my hood insulation on. however the noise wasn't there when i had the insulation off to begin with. as far as i can tell the noise does not stop. i drove around tonight with the window down and music off and i could hear it as i slowed down or lightly accelerated. the noise sounds like a rotating belt of some sort, but it is not the timing belt, i checked by starting the car then popping the hood. it is definitely under the manifold, i just dont know what it would be.

The lifters are between the Cam and the Valves.
They are hydrolic. If you have lower oil pressure due to bad oil pan o-rings or a lifter going bad it will begin to tap.

Does it tap louder when first started after sitting overnight?

The only other thing I can think of is the timing belt idler or tensioner pulley is going bad.

hmm now that you mention it the oil light comes on when i take a sharp turn and such...o-rings might be the problem. im due for an oil change, ill get that done and then see if the problem persists. i know the dealer sells the o-ring kit and all, how much would that run me and if i had them install how long would it take?

I think they charge like between 3 and 5 hours.

If the light comes on when you corner then you might be low on oil as well.

word of advice, never go on the assumption that your oil was changed when they say it was...and dont let your retard mom tell you it was changed either. turns out i was running dry, so got 3 quarts in it today and problem solved.

IM AN IDIOT.

You should check it either every Tank of gas or every other tank.

We all make a mistake sometimes.

Wow down 3 quarts, I bet it would make some noise. When my car was using oil, before doing the head, I could tell when it was down more than one quart by the sound of the engine. I put 2+ in it once and don't remember the oil light coming on.
