Have a 2000 S70 with 142,000 miles on it. Recently had Vic Rocha rebuild the ABS module to solve flashing arrow and CEL. All was well until I replaced a headlight bulb and the SRS light came on and has stayed on. Can there be any connection to changing a bulb? Or to the ABS module? Next step is my indie shop but thought I'd query here first. Thanks.

OK, took it to my indie volvo shop and they sourced the code to the driver seat airbag and reset the light for no charge. Three days later, light is back. Am I now looking at replacing the seat air bag to insure all of the SRS systems will work in a crash? Eighteen year old daughter drives this car and I need it to be safe.

 

A good shop would have determined the source of the code rather than doing a simple re-set. More likely a bad sensor than the actual air bag.

 

It may be cheaper replacing the seat than dealing with the air bag. Sometimes the seat belt retractor can trip a light.
