stereo lockup problem
I recently slid my stereo out of my '98 s70 GLT non turbo and
apparently unplugging it was a big mistake....hehe....when i
first turned it on it asked for a code so i started putting in
stuff like the year, last four of the vin, even spelled volvo
like on a phonekeypad....now it says "OFF" if i try to turn it
on. so the antitheft system kicked in i guess. anybody know
how to unlock this system????? any ideas at all will be a plus
for me guys, thanx a lot!!!!

sometimes a previous owner will write it down somewhere in the manual, when you find it or get ahold of the code, you will have to turn the keys to position 1 for exactly 2 hours before "off" gets reset and you can re-enter the code.
I checked everywhere i can think of for it, it doesnt seem
to be found and the owner wasnt the original owner and
has no idea.....any thoughts on what my next step should
be? I cant beleive i was stupid enough to do this!!!

your local volvo dealership should be able to provide you with a code.. not sure if it will cost anything.

Yes, your local stealer will get the code for you. They may ask you for proof of ownership. Once they get the code to you, you will have to find a way to leave the car on for the 2 hours before it will allow you to enter it. They usually do not charge for getting the code to you.
The code comes on a white card with red strips on it. Many owners tape the code inside the glove box. I usually put mine behind my front passenger seat.
