Strange Noise while car is in ignition
Hello,
I have a 2000 S70 (153.6K miles), and it seems to have some issue that (I think) occurred very recently. Whenever I start the car, I hear some strange long noise which might be coming from the engine only when in ignition. I recorded the sound of the noise with the hopes that someone may recognize it.
I also took a picture of the location of the sound in the perspective of the driver seat...

Where the noise can be heard in perspective of the driver's seat: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-T...s640/photo.jpg

The car still runs fine with the exception of the noise. I'm worried that this might be a disaster waiting to happen...If there's anyone who's had this problem before, I'm open to ideas.
Thank you.

I have a 99 XC V70 which has the same noise, it changes tone when I turn the key to ignition only and when I use the window switch it goes low in tone. I had the same noise about a year ago and then it disappeared.
What does "ket to ignition" mean? The ignition has 3 positions, as soon as you push the key in the hole it's "in the ignition".
0 (off)
I (accessory)
II (on)
III (start)

It occurred on III. But I resolved the problem, turns out there was a clog in the picture I posted (need to fix that too) so I busted out some compressed air and removed said clog.
Come on rspi, he said that it does that just when the thing is right in the place.
But the windows, man. The windows make it go lower...
And you couldn't figure out that there was compressed air in the picture that was the problem?
I'm so disappointed rspi. You're losing your skills.
