Default Suspension questions

I have a 1998 S70 T5, and I swapped out my bilsteins in the front a while back be/c I thought they were the cause of my having to replace spring seats too often. I went with Boge and Volvo spring seats, and the problem was gone. I know that the Volvo spring seats are beefier, so that alone might have been the solution.

I just hit a pothole last night, and I don't know how big it was, but WOW did it feel like I hit a pile of bricks! That was sooo jarring. Even going thru certain dips in the road makes my car feel like it's bottoming out.

My car is at 135k miles, and the Boge are doubtfully more than 50k old. What's the best way to test them? Also, I know that Bilsteins have a lifetime warranty. Is there a way to test mine to see if they're still good ... without reinstalling them?

Would new springs help in any way? What are some items that I should look into replacing? I wouldn't mind a plush luxury car sort of feel at this point.
