Transmission is sliping

Everyone in a awhile the transmissio so slips/lags for a little bit then catches and is fine for bit. Is it a solenoid or is my granny bad?

1999 volvo s70 2.4 base

Check the fluid level first. It might be a little low, but be careful not to overfill it if you need to add some. Also, a fluid change might not be a bad idea either.
