Default UH-OH>>>alternator help

I seem to have gotten myself into quite a pickle with my s70. My
alternator was bad so i ordered a new one from autozone. (bosch)
pick it up, my buddy and i took the old one out, was a pain. (PS pump
and like 4 brackets.) started to put the new one in and its the wrong
damn alternator for my model. took it back, took em a week to get
the right one in. Now i cant for the life of me figure out how two
of these brackets go back in. (stupid, i know) Does anybody have
any closeup pix of their alternator area? (or really detailed instructions)
the small triangle bracket on the right is my main problem i think

The one triangle one goes on the back of the steering pump.

No it bolts to the back of the steering pump and it used to help hold the pump to the bracket.

I wish I had pics for you. But I do not. You should see 2 hole like in the middle of the bracket. They will line up with the back of the pump. Screw it to the pump and slide the pump back in. Then one long bolt will go through the front of the bracket on the motor and screw into the triangle bracket.

Cool Sweet Success

went back together in a jiffy! (25 min is a jiffy for me)
I noticed some dry cracks in the belt though, im thinkin
about replacing it. i have to go to the store anyway to
find some kind of tool to operate that tensioner pulley.
(you dont wana know how i got it off) do you know if
a 1" drive ratchet will work? those pulley tools they sell
at autozone only go to 1/2" so its too small

The size you need is 3/4.
This kit has what you need. Use the link to understand what you need.
http://www.gearwrench.com/catalog/sp...ine_belt_tool/

That is the same kit I have.

Sometimes you can get a 1/2 to 3/4 adapter and slide it in there and clamp vise grips onto it and turn the vise grips to move the tensioner.

I broke down and bought the GearWrench tension pulley kit from Sears.
new tools.... and a new serpentine belt....but there's no diagram
on the underside of the hood or anywhere in the engine compartment.
and my manual doesnt have the right one...does anybody have a link
to the belt routing diagram for a 98 S70? (or maybe a really clear picture
of one will do.) thanx alot

No pick but put it around the crack and then go around the A/C comp. Then up and over the alt and down around the idler and around the power steering to the tensioner.
