V70 Seat Swap

V70 Seat Swap
My wife has a basic 2001 V70 with heated cloth seats. She would like to have leather. I am trying to find used leather seats in good shape, but most appear to be power. Can the manual seats be swapped for the power ones? I am OK with still having them work manual so I guess the second question is can the seats be removed from their brackets and be switched or does everything need to be changed? Is there existing wiring even in the manual seat car or would I have to get a seat wire harness?
Thanks

The electrical wiring is already there under the seat coming up through the carpet. Take a look and you will see the connectors. Typically there are four different connectors. Since you have a manual seat most likely you are only utilizing two of the connectors. The power controls and memory are built into the electric seats so there should not be any issue with swapping from cloth manual to leather power. Not sure if this is different on the 2001 (I have both a 1999 and a 2000 Volvo) but just make sure the seats you are buying have the correct connector for the air bag.

V70 Seat Swap
On the 2001+ you may have to visit the dealer to update/reprogram the cars computer. The power seat motor went on my 2002 V70, I replaced it with one from an s80. The power feature works for about 10 seconds after you open your car door, after that you can't adjust the seat. I set the memory buttons for my wife and myself, and we had to quickly adjust the seat as soon as we entered the car, depending on who drove it last.
