Default V70R Cluster in a S70

Okay, I hope im not having a brain fart, but I am looking for information about a swap between a V70R instrument cluster (love the blue color) and a S70 cluster. Its a 1998 S70. Anyone have information about this being done. I looked on VS and couldnt find anything.

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not exactly sure. I know for the 850's 94 and 95 clusters are interchangeable and 96-98 clusters are interchangeable. But in 99 a lot changed so I don't know if you can put a 99 cluster into a 98.

I believe on the 99's they are programmed to the car only. Yes they make 99 V70 R's

Yes, the 98 S70 requires a '98 cluster. But if you have access only to a '99 or 00 V70R cluster, not all is lost. Take the cluster apart and use the pretty bits from the R cluster and the circuit board from your original cluster. Then, you don't have to worry about the mileage being off, either.
