Volvo V70 Troubleshooting Electrical Issue + Transmission?
I have a Volvo V70 T5 2.3 2001 with 214335 miles. I've listed out some of the issues I'm experiencing. I'd appreciate any feedback or input anyone has.
I need the car to pass emissions testing soon. It's not passing because of the check engine light. I need to solve that so it passes emissions testing.

OBD2 Error Codes
- P0785 Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction
- P1618 No DTC Definition Found.
- Check engine light is on.
- When driving the car feels labored to start moving forward and the gear shifts seem irregular. (It is automatic.)
- High beams don't turn off. (I can pull the fuse out to get them off)
- Headlight don't turn on (replaced bulbs today and still no luck)
- Fog lights work just fine as well as running lights and turning signals.
- Passenger seat power adjustment system works when it wants too
- When locking or unlocking the doors the rear wiper blade moves a couple inches.

The P1618 is referring to the transmission computer connections - you may need a better OBD2 scanner to interpret any communications/electrical issues between the ECU and TCU codes. This could be related to the fact that one of the solenoids in the valve body appears to be acting up. Good news is the solenoids should be accessible without removing the transmission so best to have a transmission shop do some diagnostics for you.
