will the security system work fine? how about the keyless remote control?

 

Both will work fine, as the security system/ keyless entry is contained in their own separate module.

 

Thx Carrots, but if I replace the radio, will the system ask me for the security code? I don't think the dvd player i m going to buy has that surt of application allows me to enter the codes... as we know if we reconnect the volvo radio, the system will pop and ask for the 4-digit codes. and if we don't enter the correct codes. the radio system will not work.

 

Your thinking is correct, but the code is specific for the factory radio and not the entire audio system.

 

if you get an aftermarket radio, you most likely won't have use of all the volvo speakers (i think there are 8). most radios only have 4 outputs
