Default water in oil & oil in water

hi.
I have s70 year2000 GLT. recently, the car is losing more & morewater. there's water in oil & oil in water.I got the mechanic and he told me I have to replace the whole engine.

Is it realy nessesery ?? or there is any other solution ??

If the headgasket is just blown you can just replace that.

Definetly headgasket- UNLESS one of the water jackets has a crack... (bad block)
