Hey krudgepacker, I got a V8 on 87 that will stomp a mud hole in that 5 cyl turbo with premium fuel in it! You got to be in France somewhere.lol To bad I would show you how a Carolina punk builds a V8!!

 

So, having a 98 S70 glt and running 87 octane for the last three months, I’ve come to notice that going uphill I would lose power exponentially, having to stay at 4K revs just to climb at 40mph. Running 93 octane the past two days on the same daily drive hills, she holds hp and tq much better, 1.3k revs better, which in turn is saving fuel. Ticking in my engine miraculously disappeared, my turbo spools much better and my quarter mile under same conditions was better. 87 average 16.32, 93 average 14.97 however I have noticed that the lp glt turbo runs optimal with 89-93 octane whereas the hp T5 turbo runs optimal on 93-98 octane. Non-turbo glt models wouldn’t need the higher flashpoint that comes with high octane beings as there is no form of mass airflow as with turbos and superchargers
