Default Cold weather / winter clutch pedal chattering and squealing

Hi guys, I searched google for this sort of problem but couldn't come up with a good answer.

I imported my 99 S70 T5M from the southern US a couple of years ago and this is its second winter in Canada (it's been cold). When I start the car in the morning and it's totally cold, the engine runs fine before I let the clutch pedal out. When I let the clutch pedal out the engine dips 200-300rpm and a terrible chattering/squealing sound comes from the back of the engine bay/near the tranny. It sounds a lot like a dying bearing. After about 5minutes, when everything warms up a bit, the chattering noise stops, but the engine will still dip about 100RPM as long as I drive the car if I let the clutch pedal out in neutral (this has been going on for about a year now...)

Pretty much my question is: does this sound to you like an issue with the throwout bearing, pilot bearing, or something more serious - maybe a more serious issue with the tranny, or one of the accessory belts? Anything I can try to diagnose more specifically before I take the car to a tech? Thanks!

Cheers - D

I visited my tech today for an alignment and he explained to me that the noise is probably coming from the transmission.
