$3000 for repairs...
So about a month ago my service light came on and then the other day my check engine light came on. I had been experiencing some surging/idling issues which was the main reason I took it in. They said that there were two bad oxygen sensors ($1000 to fix), the abs control needed replaced (another $1000), and that the surging was caused by the oil trap being clogged ($1000...about $100 for parts, the rest is labor). I plan on seeing if my friend can fix the oil trap, but for some reason I just dont think that's the issue. When they told me what it was they didnt sound too sure that that was it. They said they would start with that to see if thats what was causing it.
So basically, does anyone know how easy it is to replace the oxygen sensors and/or abs module? Or if not, any alternatives for fixing this problem. Also, my abs hasn't seemed to be acting up at all recently. It sounds like the only reason I need these two things replaced is for my emissions test. Any advice is appreciated.

RE: $3000 for repairs...
What year s80?
Could be the ETM if it is a 1999+. And that is a Volvo ONLY repair. Only a VOLVO dealership can do this repair. and it will cost in the vacinity of $1200 to fix and if you need the software update that is another $50-$100.
Your car maybe covered by the 10 year 200,000 mile warranty on the ETM issue. I have no idea if it is or not.

It's a 99 S80 and I've had both the software upgrades already for the ETM. I was having similar problems so I got the ETM upgrade and the issue was fixed. Then I startd having futher issues so I took it back to the dealer and they did another ETM software upgrade which took care of the problem again. Now its doing pretty much the same thing...execpt this time they say its the oil trap....
