Hello Volvo Enthusiasts,

I just purchased a 99 S80 for my wife. We're excited about it and want to put some sweet wheels on it. I'm not finding many options out there. I'm looking for a 5 spoke style similar to the Volvo Pegasus wheels except I want 17x7.5 or 17x8 in chrome. Id also like to squeeze some 255/45/17 tires under there. Has anyone done this or somethinng close? Are there any aftermarket companies that make the 5x108 bolt pattern? I love the Liquid Metal Static Chrome wheels but dont think they fit. Will I be limited to OEM wheels like the 14 spoke chrome wheels on the 2004-2008 S40 and S50's??? Any advise would be much appreciated...

 

You should be able to find a number of different wheels. Chrome will be the problem. Not as many made in chrome anymore. Check www.tirerack.com for ideas. You can see different wheels on your car. The 255 tire is pretty wide. You might have some rubbing problems and they will definitely affect your turning radius.

 

The biggest fitment these cars came with was 17 x 7 with 225/50/17 rubber, and even with those AND steering stops, you are pretty much guaranteed to rub...

 

I had 245 series on my original wheels and it rubbed when making a tight turn so I would say 255 might be too wide like these fellows were saying also.
