I have worked all the codes, fixed everything on this car except RR door won't open from the inside or the outside (did when I first bought it).

This weekend I replaced the trunk latch. Works perfect. Nice to have a trunk that opens with FOB and by pressing the latch.

My local pick-and-pull salvage yard, has had numerous S80s, and I have the already pulled the RR door lock assembly. Guess, I pull the door card from the inside reach in and manually open. Then replace latch.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am always interested in a better way.

Any luck on your door issue? I had a similar problem on my 99 S80 but it was related to the master window switch/lock that my mechanic fixed.

I'll ask him what it was and post back.

 

Door still is not a priority. 99% of the time, its just me in the car, so far no one has rode in the back seat. I am a busy guy, have the part on hand to fix it. Just as of now it is not a priority.

My master door switch open and unlocks the door. I have an extra master door switch that does the same. My problem, is you cannot open the door using the inside handle or exterior handle. The lock button goes up and down.

While at the wrecking yard, I picked up a new lock assy, and retainers for the inside door card. Putting them on, well there is a laundry list of stuff ahead of it. Like staying in shape. Working on my farm and farm equipment, feeding cows, a full-time job, that puts me on the road traveling.

I will get to it. Someday. its on the list.
