2000 S80 N/A Indication lights on
Ok, took delvery of my "new" 2000 S80 2.9
Some issues right off the bat.
1.) ABS, traction control, and other lights on
2.) When I Hit bumps, the "no oil pressure safely pull over asap" light comes on, first time I did, shut off the car restarted with hood up there was no indication of low/no oil pressure (ticking, grinding, rattles) at all. Also turns on when cornering.
3.) I am already aware it needs the abs modual needs to be replaced/rebuilt, but will it cause all these problems?
Other than that the car runs and drives great. Also found the orig. window sticker $38,775 WOW, not suprised really
The color Name is Moondust metallic.
It also has a security package "Homelink Security Pkg" (What does it do?) And 16" T6 wheels (on sticker)
I will post some pics when I get a chance.

The ABS module will cause everything but the oil light.
Check the oil level and see if it looks like there is sludge in the top of the engine. If not it might need oil pan o-rings.

The oil pan o-rings go between the oil pan and the block.
Homelink is a garage door setup built into the car. You can program a garage door opener to it then one use the button on the visior.

If it was a tapping then it might have just been the lifter semi dry on oil.
If it was a skocking then the motor might be done.
Call local places. Not sure how avalible the motors are that will set the price.

I would buy the parts from volvo.

Friend with a shop helped. Noise becomes much more noticable while engine is accelerating, less when revs are dropping. Took a closer look at the head through oil fill, there is a lot of caked on crap, even on the camwhere the lifters contact eachother.
I will tell you this if it is the rod bearings then the motor has been driving like that for a long time. I have seen many of these motors run on only 1 quart of oil many times without major damage to the bearings.
You can try this stuff to clean out the sludge. If it's your lifters it might clean them up and get rid of the noise. http://www.auto-rx.com/
