2001 S80 fuel door spring replacement
The door that locks to secure the gas cap on the passenger side of the vehicle should have a spring in it to keep it closed, or open. The spring rate is zero on my car. Thus the door does not always shut far enough for the lock to secure it closed. I have the replacement spring from drivewire, but lack the knowledge of how to replace the spring that is there. I need more help. Thanks! Richard

The hinge is locked in by plastic pins. You will have to knock the center out then the hinge will fall off.
Then you will have to install the new one.
Not to sure about a site. I think we might have covered this before.
Do a search for Gas door hinge and see what returns. I think they might have posted a site to buy as well.

RE: 2001 S80 fuel door spring replacement
Hinge was $13.08 from the dealer and spring another 4. A few minutes of labor on my part and the door is now secure. For future help, you push the pins outside the fender into the fender right? There was no need to dig behind the carpet to get to the hinge. With the fender sheet metal, you could not get to it if you had to. I removed the rubber gasket around the filler hose for the gas tank for no need. It really is simple. Thanks tech for the help again.
