Default 2002 2.9 electrical issues.

Hello everyone. I picked up a 2002 S80 2.9 for a daily driver. The car is bone stock except for a HID lighting system I installed. I have NO engine codes. My scanner reveals "No Codes". I get 4 messages on the dash
1.Low beam failure (Started with the light upgrade)
2. SRS air bag service required
3. Alarm system service required
4. Electrical System service required.

#4 started yesterday along with a battery light. I have had both the Alternator and Battery tested. Both check out perfect. I have been driving for 2 days with the battery light lit. Car behaves and drives normal. Only behavior issue #4 has brought is on initial startup the interior lights flicker. Once I rev it to 4grand the flickering goes away until i shut off and restart the engine. My Midtronics shows during this fluctuation the alternator is providing 11.6-12.2 volts. Once I rev it to 4 grand the alternator starts putting out 13.8 continues until i shut the car off. I'm at a total loss. Anybody have a idea? I don't want to drive my S40 till this snow thaws. But at the sane time I don't want stranded! Thanks Guys

I already replied to your other post. An alternator putting out 11.6-12.2 volts is nowhere near perfect.

I agree 100%. But once I rev it to 3-4 grand after I start it. The Volts go to 13.8 and stay even at idle. ,The flickering goes away until I shut the car off and restart it again. The only time it stays lower than 12 volts is right at startup during the flickering of the dash lights. Thanks for replying to both posts. I don't know why my mobile double posted.

It needs at least a voltage regulator. I generally just do the alternator because my work has to be warrantied, but if you're doing it yourself, you can try the voltage regulator.
