I have an annoying suspension rattle coming from the front-passenger wheel well area. It sounds like somebody is taking a metal ball bearing and rapidly tapping it against a metal surface; a very metallic sound. It is not a clunk, but a rapid rattle. The suspension noise is the worst when traveling over uneven brick roads. There are no abnormal sounds/clunks while steering or going over large bumps (like speed bumps).

European indie shop replaced the front struts and spring seats within the last 2 years. I have checked the spring seats anyways and everything looks good and tight. My S80 has 130k miles.

 

I had a similar rattling sound in my 05 T6. Turned out to be the sway bar links. Easy and cheap fix.
