Default 2004 Volvo S80 Cranks but won't start

Hello Forum,

I have had this problem for awhile and I am at a loss. The car will crank but will not start, it will briefly start on spray. I have replaced cam and crank sensors, coil packs, plugs, and even had a new ECM programmed and installed. My mechanic thought the engine is bad so we replaced it with a working and tested engine. It has spark, fuel and compression but we are at loss of things to eliminate. I swapped out the antenna ring for another one and still nothing. We swapped out the fuel pump relay not to mention others and checked fuses. I am I missing something really simple? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Let me get this straight, your mechanic replaced the cam and crank sensors, coil packs, plugs, and had a new ECM programmed and installed. Then he decided the engine was "bad". (What does that mean anyway?) and installed another engine.

And you still have faith in this guy? Yes you are missing something really simple, the first thing I would check now is the phone book ior another mechanic.
