2005 S80 exhaust valve control solenoid circuit
I need some help fast! Wife called telling me her car sounded funny, (2005 Volvo s80 AWD). I checked it out when she got it home and found no oil in it, barely registering on the dip stick.... I got a P0027 when I dumped the codes, " exhaust valve control solenoid circuit range performance bank 1). Anyhow, I poked and prodded and also found that the PCV tube was broken in 5 pieces, (original Volvo hard plastic), this might account for the oil being missing. The car has only 109,000 miles on it and has never burned oil. There is also no sign of oil underneath it. Hmmmm.... I replaced the PCV tube removed cleaned and re-installed the Exhaust and Intake solenoids. Better but still throwing codes. I then replaced the exhaust solenoid but when warmed up almost sounds like a diesel. I also replaced the timing belt, water pump, timing belt idler pulley as well as the tensioner, but that was nearly a thousand miles ago... I have checked the timing marks to ensure no slipping took place and all looks fine. Anyone have any suggestions?
Did you ever resolve your problem? I am having the same problem. I replaced the exhaust solenoid and have rest the codes twice and my check imgine light still keeps coming on. I have to get it inspected and as long as the check engine light is on, it won’t pass.
did either of you guys resolve this? Looks like I am having similar issues...
