2007 s80 stock stero
I am very impressed with the stock stereo. With that said I heard this,
olufsen sound can be gotten for this, is it possible to do the upgrade, because I believe this stock system here is 650watts total. I know it costs 1200$, but can they put that option in?
Im debating of going that rounte to upgrade it, because I dont want to put my 13w7 in there because I think it will damage my car electrically some way that will void my volvo certification on the car.

in the introduction it says "Bang and Olufsen audio" which is the nicer sounding audio system. Its in the 5th paragraph.

Hi. I just registered for this site today while looking for other S80 info.
I have a 2007 with the Premium audio- its supplied by Dynaudio.
Here's a link http://www.dynaudio.com/eng/auto/s80.php
Anyhow I am not impressed. Very muddy Mid Bass- no dedicated subwoofer, etc- there is a amplifier mounted under the passenger seat and the LCD panel for the radio is propriatary.
Not sure what processes the Dolby information.
Anyhow you'd be better off to go aftermarket, using something like JL's cleansweep to provide a clean, unmolested RCA connection.
Later,
Jon

In newer volvos' (and many other cars) the speakers are not truly full range and operate on a slope as the volume increases, to protect the speaker from the damage of playing lower frequencies at higher volumes.
