My exhaust heat risers are noisy and would like them fixed so where exactly are they located?
Thanks in advance.

Heat risers?

Those went out of production on vehicles 30 years ago.

Default heat risers

Thanks but I know what they look like but don't know where they are located on the exhaust system. Are they on the manifold or where?

I think that there is a misunderstanding. Heat risers were used on carbureted engines to assist in vaporizing the fuel that would condense on the cold cast iron manifold. With the advent of fuel injection, those went away as unnecessary.

I'm curious if you are talking about the heat shields on the manifold or something else.

Never seen heat risers on fuel injected engines either. I don`t see anything looking like a heat riser in the exhaust system diagram

If the OP wants to believe that it has heat risers, then let it be.

This OP just called a dealer who confirmed no heat risers. it sure sounds like heat risers so he said the mufflers are doubled wall and one mnight be rusted and making the noise. I only hear if stopped at a light idling so if it's not heat risers any suggestions? Thanks so far for input.

This entire thread could have been more helpful to you if you simply asked about a noise at idle.

I tried to tell you that those things went out of production over 30 years ago.

Check to see if any of the heat shields are rattling.
