2008 Volvo S80 V8 sudden random misfires (Son’s car)
Hi all,
My son’s 2008 Volvo S80 V8 suddenly started missing on him earlier with a flashing CEL. he was only 2 miles from home so he limped it back.
I scanned the car and got a random misfire code and mis-fires on 1,2,7,8 (the 4 corner cylinders). I cleared the codes and took it for a ride.. CEL came right back with random misfire and misfire cyl 1 but definitely felt like more than 1 cylinder mis-firing. I didn’t drive it long due to flashing CEL so maybe additional mis fires would have been detected.
I scanned around a bit but see conflicting information. Any idea where to start? Car has been rock solid for my son up to this.
