Default 2009 s80 check engine light

Ok I have 2009 s80 with 53000 miles . The check engine light comes on and goes off every other day. Been doing it for five days do far . Took it to auto zone and the code read p0171 . My guess is this must be the o2 sensor . Is this s lil too early for mine to go out ? Do think there maybe another issue?

hmm ya it does looks like to be early. however you should also check to make sure the O2 sensor connection is securely tight to its components.
Well if all things are tights than you might well have to change the sensor.
Also i would recommend contacting Volvo USA (or Canada if you are from Canada) and notifying this problem. who knows they might fix it foe free

P0171 is simply saying that according to the o2's, the car is running lean. Could this be an o2 sensor problem? Maybe. Could also be a dirty MAF, clogged injectors, low fuel pressure...a whole plethora of things.
