Default 2010 Volvo S80 - Hard to Start - Must insert and remove the Key Fob Multiple Times

I find that it is hard to start my car due to something going wrong in the Key Fob system (or brake sensor system). I can insert and remove the Key Fob multiple times before it will actually start. I have gotten to the point where I don't even press the brake, and I push the start button and see if the radio comes on. If it does - then it will start. If the radio does not come one - then I remove the key Fob and turn it upside down and try again. And Again, and Again. It may be related to the brake being pressed sensor. I see that each time I press the brake it becomes harder and harder. I believe there is some relationship here - but don't know what. Any one experience this and have a fix/

An Update. I have found that by keeping the foot off the brake - I can push the start button and when the radio lights up - the car will start with the foot on the brake. It is rare that I have to take the key FOB out of its slots to make this work. Sometimes I have to push the start button multiple times before it will work. But it is much easier and less frustrating to do it this way. At this point, I consider this acceptable.
