256k, sudden no start issue.
Hey everyone. I have a 2010 Volvo S80 T6 that I bought in excellent condition, mechanically and cosmetically. It has served me extremely well for the past two months. I recently did a 16 hour road trip to Vegas when I moved here.
Last night, on a slight incline on the highway, I suddenly had what felt like a slight shudder/misfire, then a coolant symbol saying “shift up or reduce speed”. I babied it for about 30 seconds, pulled over, and the engine shut off.
I opened the hood. Checked for coolant overflowing, leaks, etc. there was no signs of any leaking or overheating. No white smoke out the back. Now I have a crank but no start.
before this I noticed that the negative terminal was loose. Sometimes I’d have to wiggle it for the car to start. I was about to replace that terminal or replace the random Walmart battery with a larger battery with the correct terminal. That is the only issue I’ve had so far.
It has ran beautifully for so long and never sputtered or hesitated. I’m open to suggestions. Thank you
