Default 2nd transmission rebuild Very P'd off now

I wonder if there is some type of lawsuit going on for the GM modified transmissions that go into these Volvos. They fail regularly and Volvo obviously doesn't stand behind them after the "warranty" is over. They clearly have a design flaw if they fail this often. I guess they, like other vehicle manufactures, are not such a stand up kind of company. Just for the heck of it I call the dealer and they want to charge 6K for refurb transmission install...Highway robbery. 1st rebuild at 100k and second at 172K at $2700 a piece. They seem to last only to 100K but this will certainly be the last before I ditch Volvo vehicles. Anyone else have simular experiences?

I'm with ya. I love my car too but had it up to my ears with the costs of repairs to these cars.

My S80 at 128,000 miles failed with no warning. Turns out it was the part that was modified to go into the GM tranny that failed. Planetary gearing which cost $500 for the part alone.

Feel good though my rebuild cost $3,500!
