99 volvo s80 smells like gas

Default 99 volvo s80 smells like gas
my volvo 2.9 smells of gasoline soon after driving. it also hesitates to start. has anyone had this problem before?

Check under the passenger rear door on the fuel tank and see if it is wet. If it is then the fuel pump is most likely cracked. Some states have an extended warranty.

tank was wet alright. how hard is to replace the fuel pump?

It is kind of a pain but first check with your local Volvo dealer. The states that have the extended warranty extends it for 10 years 150K miles I believe.
